Lifeline Foundation is a registered Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), working in the hitherto unaddressed area of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on highways and cities of India. Based in Vadodara, in the western Indian state of Gujarat, the Foundation's major activity is the establishment of EMS in India and creating awareness of EMS amongst medical and paramedical professionals and the common man. It is trying to influence the establishment of a universal access accident helpline for the entire country.
Duly recognised internationally and felicitated nationally, Lifeline Foundation complies with all rules and regulations guiding charitable activities in India. It is registered under the Bombay Charitable Trusts Act and the Income Tax Act of the country.
The Foundation believes in organisational and financial transparency, driven internally by Good Governance Principles. It has been provided with 80G certification under Indian Income Tax rules. All donations made to the trust are exempt from Income Tax to the tune of 50%.
