Lifeline Foundation, a registered Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), pioneered the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on highways and cities of India. Based in Vadodara, in the state of Gujarat in western India, the Foundation's major activity is the establishment of EMS in India and creating awareness about EMS amongst medical & paramedical professionals and the common man. It is trying to influence policy for a universal access accident helpline number for the entire country.
Duly recognised and felicitated nationally and internationally, Lifeline Foundation complies with all rules and regulations guiding charitable activities in India. It is registered under the Bombay Charitable Trusts Act.
The Foundation believes in organisational and financial transparency and is driven internally by Good Governance Principles. It has been provided with 80G certification under Indian Income Tax rules. All donations made to the trust are exempt from Income Tax to the tune of 50%.
