Welcome to the website of Lifeline Foundation (LLF), a Non Government Organisation (NGO) based in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It was founded on the 8th of April 2002 and works in the field of healthcare, specialised in Emergency Medical Services. What started off as a small project, driven by the passion of two individuals has grown to be one of the country's most credible NGOs pioneering various projects across India.
The Highway Rescue Project has been set up, as the first private initiative in South Asia, to evacuate accident victims on the highways of Gujarat and Maharashtra. HRP tries to ensure free evacuation from the accident spot to the nearest medical center within the "Golden Hour".
The Highway Rescue Project has networked all available ambulance providers, hospitals, metal cutters and cranes along the highways, in order to organize the rescue process in a cost-efficient way.
HRP has helped 1736 seriously injured accident victims, saving their lives and lims, in the first four years of the existence of the project. It is the first ever attempt to solve a long-standing problem of providing pre-hospital care to accident victims on the forlorn highways of India. HRP now covers more then 1400 kms of National Highways in Gujarat and more then 330 kms in Maharashtra. Efforts are taken to expand the services into other states in India on the Golden Quadrilateral.
